Mario Games

The name Mario might refer to different people but when someone says Mario, the first thing that strikes most of our heads is the character Mario created by Nintendo on 1981. The first ever game in which Mario appeared was Donkey Kong and since then the character has appeared on numerous games. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Mario games, as a whole, have sold more than 201 million units, making the Mario series the best-selling video game series of all time. This shows how much popularity a virtual character can achieve.

Mario is a hero in the gaming world. His character portrays the role of an ordinary hard worker who turns into a hero by taking risks to fight evil. He is one of those good guys who have to fight the bad guys (or creatures) in order to rescue the innocent. It is because of this reason everyone loves this character and his adventurous game.

Super Mario games occur in a world called the Mushroom Kingdom. It is a place where mushrooms and stars give power and strength. In the mushroom kingdom Mario has to go through a dangerous adventure with different hurdles on the way. He has to collect coins on his way and his goal is to rescue the real princess. He might not have different super powers but he is always willing to kill the bad guys by stepping on them. Mario is accompanies by his younger brother Luigi and they take turns to fight villains. Their final goal is to get to the final villain Bowser, king of the Koopas who seems to always abduct the princess.

It has been decades that this character has been around. During that time Mario has been featured in different types of games such as racing, puzzle, role-playing, fighting, sports games, and others. His popularity is growing day by day. It is because of this reason, Mario games are produced till date and several remakes, tribute games, are developed even by fans as well. So, the character Mario will never be forgotten no matter what.
